From Cebu to Baguio, thousands of Filipinos have joined local events under the ASP Angels Walk for Autism banner—an increasingly visible show of support for neurodiversity and community-led inclusion.

With over 10,000 participants mobilised in SM malls across the country, the month-long movement reflects the growing commitment of families, educators, and local advocates to reshape public attitudes towards autism. More than just a symbolic gesture, each walk affirms the importance of inclusive spaces—both physical and social—for individuals on the spectrum.

"Walk with us—for someone you love, for someone who needs to be seen, and for a future where everyone is embraced," the Autism Society Philippines urged in a statement.

These regional walks, supported by SM Cares, culminate in what is expected to be the country's largest autism inclusion event to date. On 18 May, the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City was set to welcome thousands more in a mass gathering of solidarity and hope.

Beyond inclusion, SM Cares continues to advance its broader sustainability commitments through a series of impactful community initiatives. Across its malls, SM Supermalls engaged thousands of participants in mall-wide activities including e-waste drives, tree planting, plastic collection, and upcycling art workshops. Each of these efforts reinforces SM's focus on renewable energy, responsible waste management, and creative recycling—turning environmental action into everyday engagement.

In collaboration with Tahanang Walang Hagdan, SM also gave a second life to used tarpaulins, which were upcycled into reusable eco-bags. These were later distributed through the brand's Back-to-School programmes.

Further highlighting the intersection of sustainability and empowerment, SM partnered with Upgrade Energy Philippines Inc. to spotlight women-led solar panel maintenance teams—challenging gender norms in the renewable energy sector and promoting inclusive participation in green jobs.

Culminating its Earth Month efforts, SM Cares drew over 13,500 runners to the Galaxy Earth Day Run 2025 at the SM Mall of Asia Complex. More than just a race, the event pulsed with music, dancing, and community spirit—transforming environmental advocacy into a high-energy celebration. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray lent her voice to the cause, joining the runners at the starting line and helping shine a spotlight on the urgency of climate action.
