Malaysia - Star Publications has launched its new print pullout in The Star called Automania.my, a revamp from its previous Star Rev and Starmotoring pullouts.Launched on 21 March, the weekly pullout goes out every Thursday, giving automotive enthusiasts news and reviews on the latest cars and events, driving tips as well as different aspects of motoring beyond the car talk.According to Nicola Tiong, deputy GM, corporate office, Star Publications, the content is kept concise with less technical terms to reach out to a wider mix of readers."Pages are more visually driven to appeal to busy people and young readers, while the layout is much more distinctive than the previous Star Rev or Starmotoring formats," said Tiong.Tiong added that the pullout also has young personality Megan Tan, who writes about her experiences and observations on motoring-related issues.Automania.my leverages on The Star's isnap platform, allowing readers to interact with content by viewing videos, picture galleries and other extras."Besides the essential must-have's, we have added sections that allow us to share lifestyle aspects of motoring - retail products that are inspired by motoring concepts, enriching motoring experiences, car aspirations and views from different non-industry people, which gives a new dimension and is not available in other newspaper automotive pullouts," said Tiong.Automania.my will also be complemented by current motoring news portal star-motoring.com, which Tiong said is likely to be revamped.Star Publications is leveraging on print ads in The Star and DJ live reads in RedFM in publicising the new pullout.
