The Park Lane HK promotes mental wellbeing via collaborative art initiative
share on
The Park Lane Hong Kong, Autograph Collection has joined forces with mental health charity Mind HK, Parhelion Group and UK-based gallery The Oneness Gallery, to promote mental wellbeing across Hong Kong, leveraging the transformative power of art and mindfulness.
This initiative is aligned with The Park Lane Hong Kong, Autograph Collection’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, said Carmen Chan, founder of The Oneness Gallery, London, UK in a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE. "The hotel has consistently demonstrated a commitment to community engagement and social impact, and this collaboration underscores its dedication to mental health awareness, wellness through art, and supporting inclusive social causes."
Also known as "Golden journey - Dear me, I love you", this two-part exhibition aspires to cultivate a vibrant and compassionate community where mental wellbeing is a societal priority. By fostering understanding and acceptance, the collaboration aims to reduce stigma surrounding mental health.
Through innovative programmes that blend art and mindfulness, the partnership seeks to empower individuals with accessible resources and safe spaces for connection and self-expression, ultimately nurturing resilience and emotional well-being for all.
This initiative combines Mind HK's mental health expertise with The Oneness Gallery's artistic resources, showcasing Marigpa's works that evoke mindfulness and emotional healing.
As part of the initiative, Parhelion Group provides strategic leadership and networking opportunities to facilitate fundraising efforts supporting Mind HK's services, while The Park Lane Hong Kong, Autograph Collection serves as the dynamic venue for exhibitions and workshops, enhancing community outreach and engagement. Together, these partners aim to create a comprehensive initiative that promotes mental well-being through art and mindfulness.
By leveraging the strengths of each collaborator, the initiative aims to improve access to mental health resources, reduce social isolation, and foster a deeper understanding of mental health challenges within the community.
The collaboration will feature a variety of activities, including the Mindful Canvas Exhibition series at The Park Lane Hong Kong Ebb & Flow’s The Art Lab, showcasing Marigpa's works focused on themes of self-acceptance and authenticity.
Engaging panel discussions and events led by mental health professionals, artists, and influencers will also be held to foster open dialogue on mental health challenges. There will also be opportunities for local and international artists to contribute to digital and physical exhibitions that explore self-acceptance and authentic self-expression.
While the value of the partnership is not revealed, Chan said the true worth of this partnership transcends monetary figures; it embodies the partners' shared commitment to raising awareness and fostering community engagement. "This campaign serves as a vital platform to connect with society and support those in need, making its impact invaluable. While the intrinsic value is immeasurable, we recognise the importance of transparency regarding our resources and commitments."
In terms of marketing strategies, Chan believes authenticity and truthfulness are key. "The world is already full of deception and fabricated stories. I don't pay attention to what people say, I only watch what they do. Actions speak louder than words. And time will ultimately tell the truth."
Chan said, "Corporate social responsibility is not a slogan; it's about 100% action. It's not for branding or meeting KPIs. Never use the name of CSR to sugarcoat!"
"At The Park Lane Hong Kong, we believe true hospitality extends beyond comfort - it’s about compassion, connection, and community. We are proud to unite with like-minded partners who share a common vision: to promote mental resilience through the transformative power of art and mindfulness. This initiative reflects our deep commitment to creating safe, healing spaces that support emotional well-being and inspire meaningful dialogue across our city," Luc Bollen, general manager, The Park Lane Hong Kong, Autograph Collection.
Don't miss: The Park Lane HK connects arts and sports with photo exhibition
In fact, the hotel has been striving to highlight the importance of mental health through art. Late last year, the hotel partnered with Laureus Sport for Good Foundation to present the "Mind in Motion" charity photo exhibition. This aimed to the city’s athletic spirit and the connection between art, sports and mental health.
The exhibition featuresd the work of local photographer Brian Ching with mixed reality effects at Ebb & Flow’s Artist Playground. One of the highlights was a photoshoot with 10 local elite and amateur athletes from diverse backgrounds. It aimed to celebrate Hong Kong’s distinctive athletic spirit in the vibrant district of Causeway Bay, where major sporting events such as the Standard Chartered Marathon, Hong Kong Sevens, and Hong Kong Tennis Open took place.
