Tesla is looking to hire a marketing specialist in Singapore to support its marketing organisation. The marketing specialist would be responsible for working with its marketing manager in order to develop targeted marketing plans with coherent integration of marketing tactics, event and PR activities. The individual would also need to be responsible to assist Tesla in various functions including the development, management and implementation of a comprehensive event calendar, project management and initial content creation for external newsletters. Moreover, there will also be duties pertaining to collateral and customer communication, inbound and outbound communications, development of in-store programs and campaigns, and the planning of regional activities.

Working with the communications team, the marketing specialist would need to provide consistent and effective messaging of external documents and promotional materials to support its marketing activities. They would also might be required to manage outside agencies and vendors, evaluate and track the success of programs and campaigns, effectively deliver results of marketing objectives within the designated budgets as well as comply with the global brand strategy and corporate identity of Tesla Motors.

The hunt for a marketing specialists comes amidst the news of Tesla looking to reduce its global workforce by 10%. In fact, several weeks ago, Tesla parted ways with its Singapore country manager Christopher Bousigues who said on LinkedIn that his role was eliminated following Tesla's announcement of its workforce reduction. In the past year, he worked with the team to build the business from ground up, launch the Model 3 in Singapore, set up two showrooms, one service entre, and developed a network of seven superchargers across Singapore. At the same time, Bousigues added that he also worked with the team recently to launch the Model Y.

At the same time, the brand's outspoken CEO Elon Musk has also given Tesla's employees an ultimatum where he sent off emails asking employees to return to office or leave the company. He shared that while some exceptions could be made, he will need to personally review and approve the requests himself.

Meanwhile, last year, Tesla also said it would be looking to expand its external relations teams in China as it faced public and regulatory scrutiny and a series of issues harming its publicity in the country. According to multiple reports including Bloomberg and Reuters, Tesla issued a post on its WeChat account recruiting managers for external relations teams in China. Tesla was said to be looking for job seekers to fill external affairs positions, and they will be responsible for government relations in several cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Nanjing. Also, the electric vehicle manufacturer is hiring public relations managers in Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Xi'an and Shenyang.
