TBWA Singapore has appointed Cyril Bedat (pictured) as director, regional client partner and innovation. Bedat will be working closely with Ara Hampartsoumian, managing director of TBWA Singapore, Leigh Arbon, head of digital, who was hired last week, and Toby Thurston, head of technology, to continue to drive growth and innovation.
Bedat returns to TBWA Singapore after a two-year stint at TBWA Chiat Day, Los Angeles, where he managed the global QuickBooks portfolio. He helmed the role of global business director.
Hampartsoumian said that TBWA Singapore is currently going through a “mini revolution”, reshaping the way it works and operate to remain ahead of the external market pressures that are challenging the industry.
“As we remain committed to securing a greater share of the future for our clients and ourselves, we also remain committed to bringing on board talent who enable us to meet this ambition. Having had the opportunity to work across markets, deepen his knowledge and experience out of LA, we’re delighted to welcome Bedat back to the Collective,” he added.
In addition to Bedat’s appointment, TBWA Asia also confirmed that Tuomas Peltoniemi, president of Digital Arts Network and innovation director has left to join RGA.
This comes in the midst of a massive global pitch by Singapore Airlines, in which TBWA is the incumbent. Marketing understands that Singapore Airlines’ next round of shortlist sees teams in the running – DDB and Omnicom Media Group; TBWA and PHD and Dentsu Aegis Network.
