TBWA\ Shanghai promotes managing partner Muriel Lechaczynski to managing director

TBWA Shanghai has announced that Muriel Lechaczynski has been elevated from her existing role as managing partner to the position of managing director.Lechaczynski moves into her new role immediate effect and will continue to report to Joanne Lao, chief executive officer of TBWAGreater China.Lao commented on the promotion, “It’s always rewarding to recognise and elevate talent within. Muriel has played an instrumental role in the ongoing transformation of the Shanghai agency, and has a fabulous quality in her leadership style in being able to bring out the best in teams to get the job done in the most impactful way.”Lechaczynski has decades of global industry experience, actually starting her career proper starting with TBWA Chiat Day straight out of university as an account executive. Following that, she has worked with DDB Needham, Publicis NY, TBWA Hamburg, and Ogilvy & Mather before rejoining TBWA in Shanghai in 2013 as brand team leader and a member of the management team. In 2016, Muriel became the agency’s managing partner.Lechaczynski said on her appointment, “I’m thrilled to step into this new role at an agency I have seen grow and transform over the last five years.
