TBWA\ brings in the big guns for McDonald’s in China and Japan

TBWA Greater China has drafted two senior executives to secure its position with McDonald’s.

Joining the agency in Shanghai as vice president of APMEA is Franck Besson (pictured left), who will lead the McDonald’s business in China and across the Asia region.

Besson was formerly TBWA’s global brand leader for McDonald’s, based from TBWAParis. He brings over 10 years of global market experience on the McDonald’s brand.

Frank Marinus relocated to Tokyo as creative director on the McDonald’s account and will work out of the TBWAHAKUHODO office to lead the McDonald’s creative work in both the Japanese and Chinese markets.

Joanne Lao, CEO of TBWA Greater China, said the two senior transfers represent an important on-going commitment to support the growth ambition of the McDonald’s brand in China.

Chris Iki, chief operating officer of TBWAHAKUHODO, added this will not only reinforce the creative and strategic offerings of the McDonald’s business in Japan, but also bring the teams closer together as a unified TBWA front in the region.
