Sotheby's appoints Fan Beibei as managing director of China

Sotheby's has appointed Fan Beibei as its managing director of China, and began her new position earlier this month.Based in Beijing, Fan is responsible for leading the local team and driving Sotheby's business and presence in China. She also plays a key role in Sotheby's business development strategy, working closely with senior leadership across the company.Fan joins Sotheby's from HBO, where she held the position of executive vice president for new business and managing director for China. In that role, she oversaw all the business aspects of HBO’s business in China, from revenue generation to production, as well as new business prospects across Asia. Prior to HBO, Beibei held senior positions at Warner Bros. and The Walt Disney Company in China."Fan has successfully guided multinational companies through growth and expansion in China and brings a detailed understanding of Chinese governmental system and economic environment. Her track record of creating innovative approaches and setting industry standards will be of significant benefit to our focus on growth and opportunities in China," said Kevin Ching, CEO of Sotheby's Asia.
