Social data analytics agency Wisesight has unveiled a complimentary platform known as trend.wisesight.com to help companies monitor trending topics on social media in Malaysia, and leverage those trends to create business opportunities. By opening the platform up to all, Wisesight aims to encourage further collaboration in the marketing ecosystem and give back to the community.Trend covers platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, forums, news sites, YouTube and blogs, and helps companies track learnings and data points by engagement and specific channels, as well as over a period of time ranging from three days to a week or within the last 24 hours. It also tracks trending hashtags on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.According to founder and regional director Shakthi DC, Wisesight hopes that this platform will “level out the playing field” by offering marketers and social media enthusiasts in Malaysia the ability in a single glance to view what is trending at any given point of time across various popular social media channels. In a statement to A+M, she added that Trend is designed to inspire great creatives and shift perspectives that data is static or too complex to gain inspiration from. When asked how different Trend is compared to other platforms currently available, she said that trend offers a simple view of the top mentions and topics without requiring tools for set ups or configuration.“It is ideal for brands or creatives who want to ride the wave of trends or are looking for new ideas to diversify their marketing strategies,” she added.Shakthi said that collaboration within the marketing ecosystem is “crucial” because marketers and agencies no longer dictate the trend. Instead, they have to respond to the engagements by users.Marketers and agencies should engage in more collaborative events for the sake of cross-learning and build strong partnerships that encompass the varying needs each organisation’s stakeholders could benefit from.Established in 2010, Wisesight launched its Thailand headquarters during that same year. In 2017, its regional hub was established in Malaysia and it currently has 23 employees in the country. Among the list of clients Wisesight is currently working with include Sime Darby Property, University of Malaya, Taylor’s University, Ministry of Health, H&M, Ice Watch, Fiyta and Tesco.[Digital Marketing Asia Conference 2019 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia is coming back for it’s fourth year. ‘Moving Towards A Smart Nation’ will be this year’s theme with speakers from the civil service and private sector.
