Skechers has renewed its partnership with the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) and will serve as the official footwear provider for Team Malaysia at the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand, held from 9 to 20 December 2025. The move follows its collaboration with OCM for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

As part of the deal, Skechers Malaysia will supply 2,000 pairs of shoes for athletes and officials to wear during the march-in ceremony and for off-field activities. Each member of the contingent will receive a pair of Skechers hands free slip-ins equipped with air-cooled memory foam insoles.

The sponsorship covers models from the brand’s max cushioning series, including the max cushioning premier 2.0 and GOrun elevate 2.0 for men, and the max cushioning elite 2.0 for women. The footwear features ULTRA GO cushioning and goodyear performance outsoles. The sponsorship carries a total retail value of RM922,538.

Skechers said the renewed partnership reflects its continued support for national athletes as they prepare to compete across multiple sporting disciplines in Thailand.

“We are honoured to continue our partnership with the Olympic Council of Malaysia for the 33rd SEA Games Thailand 2025,” said Zann Lee, managing director of Skechers Southeast Asia. “At Skechers, we believe that comfort empowers performance, and through this sponsorship, we hope to provide our athletes with the confidence and support they need, both on and off the field. We stand proudly behind our national athletes as they carry Malaysia’s spirit of excellence onto the regional stage.”

In tandem, Mohd Nasir Ali, secretary general of OCM said, "We are proud to build upon our partnership with Skechers as the 'official footwear’ for the Malaysian Contingent to the 33rd SEA Games Thailand 2025. Together, we share a vision to uplift our athletes and celebrate the nation’s unwavering spirit on the international stage. This partnership goes beyond footwear — it represents pride, unity, and the relentless pursuit of excellence."

The move comes as Skechers ramps up its global and regional brand presence through a series of high-profile ambassador appointments. Earlier this month, the brand appointed actress and entrepreneur Sofía Vergara as its new global ambassador, after she discovered the brand while seeking supportive footwear during her recovery from knee surgery.

In August, Skechers also named Hong Kong actor Tony Leung as its Asia Pacific ambassador, spotlighting its slip-ins stand-up wear technology series as part of the campaign.
