Skechers Singapore is offering a glimpse into the future of shopping with the launch of Luna, an AI-powered retail assistant, at its new store in Punggol Coast Mall.

Created by socially-led creative agency We Are Social Singapore, Luna is part of a month-long activation celebrating the opening of Skechers' newest outlet in the Punggol Digital District. Shoppers can interact with Luna through an in-store kiosk or chat with her via Telegram, receiving real-time personalised style advice and product recommendations based on their outfits and preferences.

Designed using a collection of AI models, Luna enables speech-to-speech communication with customers, bridging online and offline shopping experiences. Acting as a personal stylist, Luna provides suggestions based on live conversations, aiming to make the shopping journey more convenient and tailored.

“As a comfort technology brand, harnessing new and innovative solutions to connect with our customers is part of our DNA," said Irene Lee, senior general manager, Skechers Singapore.

"With the opening of our new store in Punggol Digital District, it enhances customers' retail journey with a unique, social, and interactive experience with Luna," added Lee.

Manolis Perrakis, innovation director at We Are Social Singapore, added: “The emergence of AI speech-to-speech technologies is powering an agentic AI revolution that forms the backbone of future consumer-facing systems. Luna is an additional touchpoint for Skechers to complement its innovative retail experience, uniting retail and online environments into a seamless ecosystem.”

The activation will run for a limited time at Skechers’ Punggol Coast Mall store.

Skechers move to introduce Luna signals a timely step towards the future of retail.

According to a 2024 study by McCann Worldgroup titled "Truth About Singapore," 77% of Singaporeans agree that seamless customer service, whether delivered by a human or robot, is of the highest importance. This is especially since the study revealed that 65% of Singaporeans prefer shopping recommendations made by AI over real people
