Single's Inferno star Song Ji-ah (pictured) is pressing pause on her online activities after being embroiled in a controversy about wearing counterfeit luxury goods. Song apologised in a recent YouTube video for the chatter that she has caused and once again admitted to rumours about the fake goods, adding that "everything is my fault".

"I'm sorry for undermining the value of the brand and disappointing many people who have supported me," she added in the video. The Single's Inferno star first apologised a week ago via an Instagram post for wearing counterfeit luxury goods.

Song has since deleted most of the content on her YouTube and Instagram except for the apology video and post. She currently has 3.7 million followers on Instagram and more than 1.9 million YouTube subscribers. Her YouTube channel was launched in 2019 and features vlogs as well as makeup tutorials.

According to Song, viewers appreciated her look after she began purchasing counterfeit luxury products. Hence, she continued doing so to get more reactions. "I'm regretting it right now and thinking about the past makes me feel pathetic," Song said. She added that she should have paid more attention to her inner self when she received plenty of external support but instead, she focused on her outer self.

She also urged for people to stop criticising her family and acquaintances, taking full blame for the incident. "I will close all my social media channels and take the time to reflect. I will take responsibility for my mistakes," she added.

Song faced criticism recently for wearing counterfeit luxury goods after a YouTube video claimed she wore fake goods of luxury brands such as Chanel, Dior, and Versace, reported South Korean English-language newspaper, The Korea Times. These included a crewneck short-sleeved sweater with Chanel's logo on it, as well as the bikini with Versace's iconic design pattern which Song wore during Single's Inferno.

Single’s  Inferno started streaming on Netflix in December. Since then the show also came under criticism when contestants praised a female co-star for her pure white skin. While Netflix Korea's VP Kang Dong Han said praising fair skin is culturally acceptable in Korea, the incident is a learning opportunity. A quick check showed the content is still trending in Singapore and Malaysia.
