Mutant has been appointed as the communications partner for two of Singapore's marquee international sporting events: the Singapore Tennis Open (STO) 2026 and HSBC SVNS Singapore 2027, a flagship leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series.
The appointments build on Mutant's existing partnerships with the Singapore Tennis Open since 2024 and HSBC SVNS Singapore since 2023. According to the agency, the appointments reflect its growing role in integrated communications and event marketing as it continues to strengthen its capabilities in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) and live events space.
Under the project remits, Mutant will provide strategic communications support spanning media relations, stakeholder communications, on-ground communications, international media relations and accreditation, athlete profiling and post-event reporting.

The appointments add to Mutant's growing portfolio of large-scale events across the region, where it has supported government tourism initiatives, trade events, film festivals and global brand activations.
According to Lina Marican, regional managing director at Mutant, said Singapore continues to cement its position as a destination for world-class sporting events.
"Singapore is punching above its weight as a destination for world-class sporting events, and we're proud to be part of what makes them land well. We're grateful for the continued trust from The Kallang team. It reflects the strength of our team and our ability to deliver impact on the ground," she said.
Meanwhile, Pui Leng Low, head of communications at The Kallang, said the agency's track record was a key factor in extending the partnership.
"Mutant has consistently delivered with clarity, speed and a strong understanding of what these events require, both on the ground and in-market. We're pleased to continue the partnership as we scale our event portfolio," said Low.
The sporting event appointments come amid a string of new business wins for Mutant. Most recently, IHH Healthcare appointed Mutant to lead its regional communications and brand mandate across Singapore and Malaysia. The remit spans public relations, social media management, corporate storytelling and brand communications, supporting the healthcare group's corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement efforts across both markets.
Prior to that, the agency was appointed as Klook Singapore's communications agency following a multi-agency pitch, where it will support the travel platform's efforts to strengthen its position as a trusted travel authority through destination storytelling, travel insights and emerging trends across Asia Pacific.
