IHH Healthcare has appointed Mutant to lead its regional communications and brand mandate across Singapore and Malaysia.

Under the appointment, Mutant will support IHH Healthcare’s corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement efforts across both markets. The agency’s scope of work includes public relations, social media management, corporate storytelling and brand communications at the group level.

The account will be led through Mutant’s regional network and specialist healthcare communications team, drawing on the agency’s experience working with healthcare, healthtech and patient-focused organisations in the region.

The appointment comes as IHH Healthcare continues to build on its recent brand refresh, strengthening its corporate narrative and reinforcing its position as a multinational healthcare leader. Mutant will support efforts to elevate the group’s reputation, with a focus on clinical excellence, patient-centered care, healthcare innovation, trust and reputation building.

Janet Low, vice president, group head, communications and branding at IHH Healthcare, said communications and branding play an increasingly strategic role in how the group engages stakeholders, strengthens trust and supports its transformation journey.

“As we continue to evolve our corporate brand and reinforce our position as a multinational healthcare leader, it is important that we tell our story in a way that reflects both the strength of our clinical excellence and our vision for the future of healthcare,” said Low.

She added that Mutant demonstrated a strong understanding of IHH Healthcare’s business, stakeholders and the opportunities ahead.

“We look forward to working together to further elevate IHH Healthcare’s reputation and strengthen our leadership narrative across areas such as innovation, AI-enabled care, new care models and patient-centred healthcare,” said Low.

Lina Marican, regional managing director at Mutant, said healthcare communications today goes beyond simply raising awareness.

“Patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers are all seeking greater transparency, credibility, and confidence in the organisations they engage with. We're delighted to deepen our partnership with IHH Healthcare and support the organisation across Singapore and Malaysia,” she said.

“As one of the world's largest private healthcare providers, IHH Healthcare has a powerful story to tell, and is uniquely positioned to contribute to important conversations around healthcare innovation, clinical excellence, and the future of care in Asia. We look forward to helping bring those stories to life and strengthening IHH’s reputation among the audiences that matter most,” added Marican.

The appointment builds on IHH Healthcare’s recent brand refresh, which set the foundation for the group’s next phase of corporate storytelling and reputation building.

Developed in partnership with Landor and launched in August 2025 at its inaugural FutureHealth. Now Conference in Kuala Lumpur, the refreshed identity unites IHH Healthcare’s portfolio of hospital brands under one future-ready global brand anchored by the platform “Catalyst for better care”.

The appointment also adds to Mutant’s growing list of client wins. Most recently, Klook Singapore appointed Mutant as its communications agency following a multi-agency pitch, with the agency tasked to support Klook’s efforts to strengthen its position as a trusted travel authority.

The remit focuses on elevating Klook’s voice around experiences, travel insights and emerging trends across Asia Pacific. According to the company, Mutant was selected for its audience conversion-led approach, ability to engage Gen Z travellers and strength in enhancing brand discoverability in an increasingly AI-driven search landscape.
