Singapore Institute of Management rebrands to showcase dynamic approach education

Singapore Institute of Management has rebranded to reflect a new industry-focused and skills-based era of lifelong learning with a vibrant new logo. The rebrand features the tagline "Learn for Life, Thrive for Life", while the logo sports a vibrant red and blue colour palette. The logo was revealed at a hybrid event for its internal stakeholders on the SIM campus.

According to SIM, red represents the "little red dot" and blue represents a nod toward the future. Circular and triangular elements incorporated into the logo also reflect SIM’s well-rounded approach to education, as well as its drive to help all learners reach their peak potential. SIM declined to comment on MARKETING-INTERACTIVE's queries about the monetary investment behind the rebranding and how the marketing will be done moving forward.

The new look comes as many industries have undergone rapid transformations, brought about by accelerated technological innovation, increased automation, and a heightened need to be agile and adapt to the external environment. SIM’s new logo is a testament to its dynamic approach to education while understanding the skills required for today’s industry, Seah Chin Siong, president and CEO of SIM said.

Seah added: "It is my hope that this new identity will resonate with learners of all ages, encouraging and inspiring them to embrace lifelong learning throughout their different life stages, and that an education from SIM will deliver a lasting positive impact for these learners, and society at large.”

According to SIM, its mission is to deliver a positive impact on learners, enterprises and society at large. It was founded in 1964 on the initiative of the Economic Development Board (EDB) to support Singapore’s industrialisation, with Richard Eu Keng Mun as its founding chairman. In conjunction with its 50th anniversary, Lim Hng Kiang, then Minister for Trade and Industry, Singapore, had opened its campus extension in Clementi. It offers a range of programmes on offer that cater to the needs of every learner through its core business entities, SIM Academy and SIM Global Education.

SIM Global Education offers distance learning programmes, partnering with educational institutions from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and Europe. Meanwhile, SIM Academy, which comprises SIM’s Professional Development and Enterprise Solutions programmes, prepare learners for the future of work. Through Enterprise Solutions, SIM develops organisations’ talents and human capital through its Integrated Learning Model to support business objectives.

SIM launched a series of campaigns targeted at the Malaysia market in 2019 to promote its student intake for SIM Global Education, managed by digital marketing agency Ydigital Asia. The appointment was for a period of 12 months, following a pitch held in the fourth quarter of 2018.

According to its 2021 annual report, it has over 176,000 alumni graduated from its distance learning programmes, and has conducted 460 programmes through its professional development and enterprise learning sector.
