Singapore Airlines' KrisShop names new CEO

KrisShop, the omnichannel retailer and inflight duty-free shop of Singapore Airlines, has appointed Jason Lee as CEO.

In his new role, Lee leads the overall business strategy and organisational management of KrisShop. With over a decade of experience in retail digitalisation and eCommerce across various markets in Asia, he is responsible for driving the continued growth of the company’s flagship eCommerce platform, KrisShop.com, and steering innovation of its inflight offerings in the post-pandemic era of travel.

Prior to KrisShop, Lee held senior roles with recognisable companies such as eBay. He was most recently the group chief digital officer at Wing Tai Holdings where he oversaw the overall group’s digital transformation and led its online retail business.

Lee said, “We are in a new and exciting era of retail and travel, primed for growth and innovation. KrisShop’s successful transformation from an in-flight duty-free shop to a full-fledged omnichannel retailer in the past few years has allowed the company to maintain customer engagement by meeting them where they’re at with service excellence and a curated assortment of up-to-date products. I look forward to driving an integrated omnichannel approach and closing the gap between eCommerce and inflight retail to deliver a seamless shopping experience wherever our customers may be.”

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out for additional information.

In April, KrisShop launched an omnichannel loyalty programme called “KrisShopper”. It is designed as a personalised programme and the retailer seeks to reward frequent consumers for what they love by giving them access to a slew of benefits when they purchase on KrisShop.

However, earlier in the year in March, KrisShop suffered a data breach. This affected the personal information of 4,749 KrisShop customers, which included included names, email addresses, residential addresses, contact numbers and KrisShop e-voucher numbers. Additionally, the bank account numbers of about 165 customers and the KrisFlyer account numbers of 17 people were exposed, but passwords and credit card information were not leaked as the company files did not include this data..
