Sheraton PJ Hotel names Shona Pang as director of marketing

Sheraton Petaling Jaya (PJ) Hotel has appointed Shona Pang (pictured) as director of sales and marketing.

In her new role, Pang oversees all marketing, sales and public relations efforts for the newly opened hotel. Leading a team, she is also tasked to map out key strategies for sales and marketing of the hotel, according to a statement.

Pang and her team are also expected to interact with the business community and leisure seekers, to highlight Sheraton PJ Hotel’s collective range of facilities and amenities. Pang reports to general manager, Christopher Moore.

Prior to joining Sheraton PJ Hotel, Pang was director of conventions and events at One World Hotel. She brings in over 10 years of convention sales experience in the hospitality industry to her new position. Pang’s hospitality career first started in 1999 where she started out as coordinator, conventions, meeting and banqueting at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.

In 2006, she joined The Westin Kuala Lumpur as manager, catering and conventions and was later promoted to the position of assistant director, catering and conventions in 2009.

“I aspire to put my wealth of experience and knowledge into expanding strategic analysis of current and upcoming market trends, to establish the 253-room Sheraton PJ Hotel as the preferred hotel of choice in Petaling Jaya amongst local and global business and leisure travelers,” Pang said.
