She Speaks Power, a networking platform by Naga DDB Tribal, has launched an Instagram directory spotlighting self-made women this International Women's Day (IWD).  The directory featured female entrepreneurs from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu, spanning wellness, fashion, food and beverage, and even a surf school based in Cherating, Pahang.

The diverse lineup, according to the release, is aligned with this year's theme of #InspireInclusion. The lineup will continue to be refreshed with more entrepreneurs monthly until the end of the year.

“This year, our focus will be celebrating and championing female entrepreneurship and welcoming everyone interested in learning from the stories and experiences of these entrepreneurs," said Hajar Yusof, head of digital experience, Naga DDB Tribal. "While our main goal is to create a safe space for self-made women to share and inspire, we also want to invite others to join as an audience and learn from them."

Among the women featured is Naga DBB Tribal's Eunice Wan, who turned her passion for nail art into a successful side business in 2023. "As a writer, doing nails on the side started as a tactile hobby, but has turned into something that marries my interest in visual aesthetics and building connections. It has allowed me to connect with people in interesting ways which helps inspire my writing too," said Wan.

Beyond featuring entrepreneurs, She Speaks Powers also offer workshops for non-digitally savvy entrepreneurs and mentoring sessions. The workshops and sessions encourage cross-learning across different industries in the coming months.

“We believe that it is important to celebrate these entrepreneurs but also educate and equip them to become the best entrepreneurs they can be. We also acknowledge that fostering this appetite for entrepreneurship should begin at home," said Farrah Harith-McPherson, chief growth officer, Naga DDB Tribal.

"Hence, we will be organising a series of workshops and fireside chats for our staff to inspire those with a passion outside of work."

This IWD saw plenty of campaigns from various brands and platforms. Most recently, Grab tested a new “Women Passengers Preferred BETA'' programme where it pairs female drivers and female passengers for a ride.

The new feature will be displayed as a toggle switch exclusive to female driver-partners of the service. When toggled on, it increases the chances of matching a woman driver-partner with a woman passenger, if there is a woman passenger in the vicinity.
