CMC Invest is partnering with Team Singapore track and field sprinter Shanti Pereira to raise awareness on the importance of early investing and to spotlight the importance of financial literacy among women.

As CMC Invest's brand ambassador, Pereira will also aim to inspire women to take charge of their financial future and to start investing early.

"Much like preparing for a race, investing requires dedication, patience, and a long-term perspective," said Pereira in a statement.

"Just as consistent training leads to improved performance on the track, consistent investing can lead to financial growth and security over time. I am honoured to partner with CMC Invest to empower women to take control of their financial well-being."

Pereira has remarkable achievements in competitive running. This includes representing Singapore in various international competitions and clinching gold medals in the 2023 Southeast Asian Games.

Her qualities, such as understanding the significance of discipline, perseverance and long-term commitment are not only essential on the track, but in the world of investing too, said CMC Invest in a statement.

CMC Invest added that it recognises the importance of promoting financial literacy and inclusion, especially among women who historically have been underrepresented in investment circles.

By leveraging Pereira's influence and advocacy, CMC Invest aims to inspire more women to overcome barriers and embark on their investment journeys.

"Pereira embodies the qualities of resilience, determination, and excellence that we value at CMC Invest," said Christopher Forbes, head of CMC Invest Singapore.

"We are thrilled to welcome her as both a client and brand ambassador, and we are confident that her passion for empowering women will resonate with young women in Singapore."

Partnerships with athletes are becoming more and more popular in recent times. In August 2023, lululemon appointed four athletes as the brand's Hong Kong ambassadors.

The four athletes include professional rugby player Cado Lee, professional swimmer Camille Cheng, professional fencer Ryan Choi and Hong Kong’s top tennis player Eudice Chong.

As brand ambassadors, the athletes aim to inspire consumers to prioritise their social, physical and mental wellbeing, as well as exploring possibilities through movement.
