Singapore will become home to the largest interactive, suspended LED sky screen in Southeast Asia. As a "high-tech visual extravaganza", the sky screen will serve as a new attraction in Singapore that will be integrated with smart digital technology system and immersive media, boosting new business vibrancy and creating new possibilities in digital media solutions. According to The Straits Times (ST), the sky screen can also be used for screening live concerts simultaneously, as well as the gamification of the platform for the metaverse.

Singapore's sky screen will be fashioned after that in Beijing, which spans 250m long and 30m wide. According to ST, The Place Holdings, which will be building the screen in collaboration with Stellar Lifestyle, also has plans to scale and replicate its screen in 10 major cities around the world, and will see about SG$20 million being pumped into building it. Stellar Lifestyle  manages retail and advertising space in Singapore's MRT network. While the location has yet to be finalised, ST reported that the sky screen in Singapore is set to be 200 metres long and will see about SG$20 million will be pumped into building it. The screen is expected to be completed in about one and a half years.

Ji Zenghe, executive chairman of The Place Holdings, said that innovative visual experiences and new digital media technology continue to play a pivotal role in boosting mindshare among consumers as our physical and digital worlds come closer together. "Together with Stellar Lifestyle’s extensive touchpoints across Singapore, there are significant opportunities to continuously improve our service offerings and experience to targeted audiences and to redefine the future of digital media solutions," he added.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Stellar Lifestyle for comment.

Singapore has previously dipped its toes on the idea, when the Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) dabbled with the idea of a digital wall last year. During its Christmas and New Year light up at Orchard Road, the digital wall included an AR element which would create multimedia projections. The digital wall was also used to feature branded content by luxury brand watch TUDOR.
