48 Hours publishes its last issue today, marking the upcoming migration of content to SCMP Lifestyle.
After 118 editions of 48 HOURS, the magazine will be moving its content online and to other South China Morning Post publications for the coverage of local arts, entertainment and lifestyle news.
“We’re glad to say this is in no way ‘goodbye’. We’re also merging our 48 Hours Facebook page with our SCMP Lifestyle page.” the 48 Hours team announced on its Facebook page.
The last issue features local actor Ching-wan Lau on the cover.
With more print media now having to go digital, “This is in sync with our current plans to accelerate the integration of print and digital resources towards a more efficient multi-media platform.” according to an e-mail to staff last week.
The SCMP stressed that there will be no redundancies, while its authors will continue to contribute their articles and views in other parts of the South China Morning Post, in print and digitally.
