Continuing his Mr Fix-it trip through Asia Pacific for Saatchi & Saatchi, CEO for Malaysia and Singapore John Foley is packing his bags for Australia, to replace out going Saatchi’s Australia chief Simone Bartley.
At press time, Foley was uncontactable and currently making his way to Singapore to talk to staff there while Saatchis staff in both KL and Singapore offices were informed of the decision this morning. He will be taking over from three-year helmer Bartley by February 15.
He will relinquish his roles as CEO of Malaysia and Singapore – with the hunt already on for a replacement here locally. Foley took on his twin duties in the hot seat at both the Singapore and Malaysia Saatchis offices early last year and said at the time:
“It’s a real honour to be asked to lead two such great agencies. We have a great team here in KL and I’m also very familiar with our Singapore team, having pretty much been there every other week for the last six years.”
Foley arrived in Asia six years ago having spent eight years in Saatchi & Saatchi Wellington, in New Zealand. Originally based out of the Singapore agency heading up the networks Asia Pacific Toyota/Lexus regional business, Foley was given the added responsibility of leading the Malaysia agency three years ago.
