Voon Tze Khay (pictured) is stepping down from as managing director of REV Asia Holdings. “My time with Catcha Media, and then REV Asia (part of Media Prima group) in these many years have been nothing but an amazing and memorable experience,” Voon said in an email.
Voon added that he had the “luxury and opportunity” to have worked with amazing individuals and learnt and grew during his time at REV Asia. Voon also thanked industry players for their support and guidance during his time with the company.
“This is not goodbye, it’s just see you later because I’ll be coming out on my own to set up my own business with a few partners and familiar faces,” he said.
Voon has over 18 years of experience in the media industry. Before taking on the role of managing director, Voon was the general manager of REV Asia, during which he was responsible for the operations of REV Asia’s core digital and publishing businesses. He has been with the company for more than 10 years, and played a critical role in the pivot of REV from a publishing magazine business to a digital media group.
A+M has reached out to Media Prima for information on his replacement.
In August 2017, Media Prima completed its RM105 million acquisition of REV Asia, with the deal incorporating its portfolio into Media Prima’s integrated media platforms. Since then, it has brought the Mashable brand back to Southeast Asia through a partnership with Ziff Davis, as well as launched a revamped rewards website and mobile app, 8coin, previously known as 8Share.
