RedDoorz hits 100 SANS Hotels as Bali tourism roars back

As Bali’s tourism resurgence gathers momentum, Southeast Asia’s RedDoorz is placing a bold bet on lifestyle travel. The hospitality-tech platform has marked the launch of its 100th SANS Hotel with a new property in Seminyak - strategically situated in the heart of one of Indonesia’s most digitally connected and tourism-fuelled locales.

The new opening, SANS Vibes Hotel Seminyak, reflects a broader shift in how RedDoorz is positioning itself in the post-pandemic hospitality landscape: less about budget accommodation and more about tapping into lifestyle, design, and digital-first experiences for the modern traveller.

First launched in 2020 amid pandemic uncertainty, SANS was RedDoorz’s calculated entry into the lifestyle economy segment - a space traditionally dominated by boutique brands and independent concepts. Its name, derived from the Indonesian word santai (“chill”), telegraphed its intentions early, which is to offer stylish, design-forward stays at an affordable price point.

Since then, the formula appears to be working. RedDoorz has recorded more than 1.3 million stayed nights across 35 cities under the SANS banner, largely by courting digitally savvy consumers who seek both form and function - fast Wi-Fi, communal areas, aesthetic interiors - without sacrificing affordability.

“Reaching 100 SANS Hotels is a proud milestone for all of us at RedDoorz. It reflects not just the strength of our brand, but also our ability to anticipate and respond to the changing needs of today’s travelers. Bali is the perfect location to mark this achievement, it embodies everything the SANS brand stands for: energy, creativity, and a lifestyle-first mindset,” said Amit Saberwal, founder and CEO of RedDoorz.

The timing aligns neatly with Bali’s own rebound. According to official data from BPS-Bali Province, foreign tourist arrivals climbed 20% year-on-year in 2024, totalling 6.3 million visitors. Destinations such as Bali are increasingly featured on digital nomad wishlists, consistently ranking in the top 10 globally on platforms such as Lonely Planet. Australians, Russians, and Germans continue to make up a significant portion of Bali’s inbound tourism.

The SANS Vibes concept, with its focus on communal energy and a casual-luxury atmosphere, is designed with this traveller archetype in mind: remote workers, solo adventurers, and Millennials weaving leisure and work into one fluid journey.

As part of its evolving strategy, RedDoorz has also introduced SANS Stay (a minimalist, cheerful concept) and SANS Elite (offering a more premium, full-service experience). The diversification appears aimed not only at consumers but also at property owners - offering them differentiated branding opportunities and access to RedDoorz’s AI-powered technology stack for pricing, marketing, and occupancy optimisation.

While Bali’s economy remains heavily reliant on tourism - accommodation, food, and beverage contributed 20.64% of local GDP in 2024, according to BPS - the market has matured in consumer expectations. The rise of flexible travel, social-first marketing, and experience-led bookings means brands including RedDoorz can no longer rely solely on price.

Instead, they are increasingly competing on design, community, and cultural relevance.

By embedding “santai” into its brand DNA and leveraging its tech-driven backbone, RedDoorz is attempting to craft a lifestyle hospitality model at scale - one that appeals to the TikTok generation as much as it does to seasoned backpackers.

With profitability achieved in 2024 and over 4,500 property partners now onboard, the company is signalling it’s no longer just a budget booking app - it’s staking a claim in shaping how Southeast Asia stays, works, and unwinds.
