Rantau PR makes several senior appointments

Rantau PR has made several senior appointments.

Adeline Phun was promoted from account director to the position of general manager, replacing Julia Nicholas, who moved into the new position of business development director. Additionally, Daisy Sidhu – previously a senior consultant, was promoted to account director. In their new positions, they will work closely with Rantau PR’s consulting director and founder Janitha Sukumaran and chief executive officer Gogulan Dorairajoo.

Phun has over 13 years of industry experience and has been part of the Rantau PR team since December 2004. Her portfolio has included clients from varied industries including consumer and enterprise technology, telecommunications, property, healthcare, insurance, home appliances, beauty, consumer goods and more.

As general manager, Phun will oversee the strategic management of all client accounts and the performance of all personnel. She also oversees collaborations with partner agencies and works with other members of the senior management team to grow the company.

Meanwhile, Nicholas brings more than 18-years of industry experience – 14 of those with Rantau PR, into her new position. Nicholas’ portfolio experience includes clients in the sports industry, healthcare, consumer goods, F&B, enterprise and consumer technology, telecommunications, beauty, and more.

As business development director, Nicholas will focus on developing Rantau PR’s client portfolio and industry partnerships, as well as growing and diversifying the agency’s scope of services. She works closely with the other senior management team members.

Sidhu joined Rantau PR in 2012, and has a total of nine years’ experience in the industry. Her client portfolio over the years has included companies and organisations from sectors such as insurance, banking and finance, consumer goods, human resource development, consumer technology, property, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, leisure, defence and more. She oversees client servicing and strategy development for Rantau PR’s portfolio of accounts, while supporting the agency’s chief executive officer and general manager.

“We made the decision to promote Phun and Sidhu and move Julia into a new position based on our company philosophy to always encourage our team members to grow and diversify their talents and broaden their career paths – without having to leave the Rantau PR family. Looking ahead to 2015, we foresee another colourful year, with industry and market developments inspiring creativity,” said Sukumaran.

Rantau PR, an independent public relations agency founded in 1992 in Malaysia, is part of IPREX, one of the world’s largest public relations networks.
