R/GA’s regional VP ECD Bob Mackintosh is leaving the agency and industry to take time out from the industry in the name of adventure. After two years with the company, he’ll be leaving in late January and taking personal time.
“We’re sad to see Mackintosh go and more than a little bit envious of his plans, but he’s leaving the creative teams and work in very capable hands,” said R/GA global CEO, Sean Lyons. “Mackintosh has built and led our creative leadership in the region and done so with wit and grace.”
Founder Bob Greenberg also said, “Fearlessness and curiosity are two of the qualities that we most cherish in our people, and stepping away from a job you love into the great unknown takes both. It’s a rare opportunity that Mackintosh has seized, and he leaves with everyone’s best wishes and an inkling that, as is often the case at R/GA, our paths may converge again in the future.”
In his role Mackintosh looked over markets such as Sydney, Singapore, Shanghai and Tokyo. He joined R/GA after 11 years at Host Sydney, where he was last ECD, overseeing clients such as Coca-Cola, LEGO, Lion Nathan, IKEA, Virgin Mobile and Air New Zealand. Prior to Host, he was digital creative director at Tequila / TBWA Sydney, working on global campaigns for New Line Cinema, Nissan, Absolut and Sony Playstation.
