R/GA APAC lead Jim Moffatt heads to Engine

Jim Moffatt, EVP and managing director at R/GA Asia Pacific, has taken on a new role at Engine as CEO of the company’s Europe and Asia Pacific operations. Based in London, his appointment is effective on 15 October 2018 and will see him reporting to Kasha Cacy, Engine’s recently appointed global CEO.

In his new role, Moffatt will oversee eight offices across Europe and Asia Pacific, with a focus on expanding further throughout those regions. This will build on Engine Europe’s collaborative business model which aims to blend teams of creative, technology and data specialists to deliver marketing and business transformation for clients, a statement read.

Prior to the appointment, Moffatt spent 10 years at R/GA, where he led the organic expansion of the business from one satellite office in Singapore with 10 employees to a regional group of more than 250 across offices in Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Shanghai and Tokyo. Before being based in APAC, Moffatt was managing director of R/GA London, and was instrumental in growing the office from its infancy to a staff of 250 people and $30 million in revenue in just five years, the statement added.

Before R/GA, he also held leadership positions at Nike as head of brand communication, where he led sports campaigns such as the World Cup and Olympics, and AKQA. He has also worked with clients such as Google, Beats by Dre, Unilever, Nike, O2, Nokia, Microsoft and Getty images.

“Moffatt joins us at an exciting time in the company, as we look to the future, serving clients looking for a new type of company to solve their business challenges and generate tangible results,” Cacy said.

“As an independent company built specifically to be nimble and fast-moving, we are well-positioned to deliver growth for clients in a fast, changing marketplace. There is a lot of opportunity to deliver large, transformative ideas for our clients’ brands and businesses,” Moffatt said.
