Audience insights and measurement company Quantcast has appointed Sonal Patel (pictured back right) as its managing director of Southeast Asia, where she will be responsible for leading the company's Southeast Asia operations. Patel will report directly to Andrew Double, Quantcast's Asia Pacific managing director, in this newly-created role.

Having 17 years of experience in the advertising and media industry, Patel was most recently president of programmatic services and product at Dentsu Aegis Network APAC. Prior to that, she was managing director and vice president at AppNexus, board director and treasurer at IAB Southeast Asia and India, and advisor at Carousell. She has held senior positions at Google, Twitter, Salesforce, Adgile, and Yahoo! before as well. Patel is also a co-founder of VBuzzAd, an advertising strategy company in Vietnam.

Commenting on her new role, Patel said she is excited to join the team in Singapore and have the opportunity to lead the next phase of growth in Quantcast.

“My appointment continues the amazing momentum of Quantcast in the region into 2020 and beyond," she added.

Quantcast also saw a number of new key hires. Stephen Rhodes (pictured front right), who was the group head of location data company Blis, has joined Quantcast as agency partner. Antoinette Patterson (pictured back left), senior sales from SpotX, has joined as client partner, and Roshni Shivaramakrishnan (pictured front left), advertising operations manager from Essence, has joined as a technical account manager. Quantcast's Daniel O’Connor (pictured centre) has also been promoted to sales director, and will be relocating to Singapore from the company's Melbourne office.

Quantcast’s Singapore commercial operations first started in April 2018 and its Asia Pacific customers include Accor, Citibank, Hilton, Jetstar, Starhub, Uniqlo, and more.

Double said the new appointments reflect the company's focus of key expansion into Asia in 2020. He also said the additions to the team will be central to helping more brands in the region access the potential of Quantcast’s machine learning technology and first-party data to help grow its businesses.

“Quantcast is simplifying advertising on the open internet, and enabling brands to successfully understand and engage audiences that have previously been hard to reach. According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, economic growth in Southeast Asia is set to outpace that of Europe and the US in the coming years. This presents a huge opportunity for brands to tap into this increasingly wealthy and connected audience through relevant online advertising," he added.
