PropertyGuru Group is on the hunt for a marketing lead in Kuala Lumpur to oversee MyPropertyData, an online property data company which it fully acquired last November. MyPropertyData offers property data analytics and insights leveraging over six million unique records across sales, rentals, auctions, new development, and geospatial information along with proprietary datasets in demographics, location, and liveability. Reporting to MD of MyPropertyData Joe Thor, the marketing lead will be responsible for the evangelism of data usage as part of a consumer’s property purchase journey measured by consumer registration, revenue generated and engagement on MyPropertyData’s consumer site.

The marketing lead will be part of the leadership team to help achieve the group’s marketing goal of being the default quoted source for property research and data, according to the job post on LinkedIn. The appointed individual will also oversee design and execution of a systematic and effective marketing strategy and budget, and collaborate with the director of sales to achieve set revenue targets and the director of product to deliver consumer-centric products, such as the PropertyAdvisor Portal. Additionally, the marketing lead is also expected to identify and develop new business opportunities, as well as create growth hacking plans for the brand and reach.

The ideal candidate is expected to have at least 10 years of well-rounded marketing experience, with at least two to five years leading a high performing marketing team between four to 10 individuals. She or he is also required to possess a track record of leveraging data and analytics to execute effective marketing strategies.

Following the acquisition of MyPropertyData, Manav Kamboj, PropertyGuru’s CTO said both companies have a shared vision to promote greater transparency in the Malaysian property market through democratisation of property data. PropertyGuru plans to invest substantially to expand MyPropertyData’s offerings over the next few months, which includes growing the team with data scientists, engineers, product managers, sales and marketing experts.
