Chief marketing officer of theSun daily, Prashun Dutt (pictured) has exited the publication, its managing director Chan Kien Sing confirmed with A+M.
A+M also understands that his last day with theSun was 31 December 2017, after the expiration of his yearly contract. “Dutt has left theSun upon completion of his current contract term. His contract term ended on 31 December 2017,” Chan added. The publication will be looking for his replacement.
Dutt joined Berjaya Group, which owns theSun on November 2012. He was tasked to drive the ad-sales and marketing function as well as, circulation strategy. He was also on the editorial board, which also sees him contributing and writing opinion-leading articles.
Prior to this, he worked with The Economist, as the director of strategic planning and research, based in Singapore and Hong Kong. At The Economist, Dutt was tasked to provide strategic insights and analytical inputs in growing its ad sales revenue within Asia Pacific region.
Dutt has more than 33 years of experience in strategic planning, media planning, media marketing and selling as well as, media research.
