Prasarana revamps MyRapid PULSE app to boost commuter experience
share on
In a move to elevate Malaysia’s public transport experience and support the national mobility agenda, Prasarana Malaysia has launched a revamped version of its MyRapid PULSE app, a modern journey planner designed to serve both daily commuters and tourists.
The newly updated app replaced its predecessor on 1 May 2025, and introduces a suite of features aimed at making rail and bus travel more seamless, user-friendly, and lifestyle-integrated.
With a cleaner interface and intuitive journey planning tools, the app also boasts a new ‘Explore city’ feature that helps users discover nearby attractions and destinations around the Klang Valley, from iconic landmarks to lesser-known gems. This not only benefits locals but also supports Malaysia’s tourism ambitions by helping visitors navigate with ease.

More than just a transit tool, MyRapid PULSE positions itself as a lifestyle companion. Commuters can enjoy new ‘Rewards and promotions’, where registered users unlock exclusive offers and discounts through partnerships with select retail and lifestyle brands.
“In line with our commitment to advancing mobility and enriching user experiences, this app marks a new chapter in how we engage with the public,” said Prasarana in a statement.
Available now on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the new MyRapid PULSE is part of Prasarana’s broader digital transformation strategy — one that merges functionality with lifestyle value to create a truly connected public transport ecosystem.
When A+M reached out, Prasarana said that boosting user experience with the PULSE app's improved design and real-time info, would make commuting easier and more reliable, while also building the public's trust in the brand.
"The app can also foster stronger customer connection, as it has features such as route planning, service alerts, and personalisation help commuters feel more connected to the service," the public transport operator added.
"The app also matches the quality of Prasarana's services under the service brands of Rapid KL and Rapid Penang, creating a more unified and professional brand image," Prasarana said with regards to the company's goals for consistent branding.
Prasarana also stated that regular use of the app will keep customers engaged, and more likely to stay loyal to its services. "PULSE will ultimately be more than a journey planning app. It will be a lifestyle app with loyalty programs, to reward our customers."
The MyRapid PULSE app was first launched in 2020 and featured first and last mile solutions in partnership with mobility giants such as Grab and AirAsia MOVE for better convenience and connectivity within the Malaysian public transport system.
The app's launch back then was also in line with Prasarana's digital transformation scheme to introduce new smart solutions in the first quarter of 2024, which include smart CCTVs, energy monitoring, and intelligent lighting.
In 2022, public transport users were able to provide feedback to Prasarana via the MyRapid PULSE app, as the operator aimed to improve its bus and rail services through the Mystery Shopper Program. The program was an extension of the readiness and standby audit committee (AKSES), a self-audit by station managers, and will be implemented in 147 train stations and bus hubs nationwide.
Following that in 2023, an online ticketing feature was introduced in the mobile app, providing Klang Valley residents with an easy way to purchase tickets and passes for public transportation, reported NST.
