Polestar has tapped Olympic gold medallist Kyle Chalmers as its latest brand partner, aligning the swimmer’s high-performance profile with the Swedish EV maker’s sustainability credentials.
Chalmers, a nine-time Olympic, Commonwealth and World Cup medallist, has swapped his ute for a gold-finished Polestar 4 Long range Dual motor Performance to mark the tie-up. The car colour celebrates his pool achievements while signalling a move towards more sustainable living.

“We’re proud to be partnering with a young Australian athlete determined to make a difference. With a relentless focus on performance in the pool and a commitment to sustainability throughout his life, Kyle’s values are closely aligned with those of Polestar,” Scott Maynard, managing director of Polestar Australia, said.
The partnership is the latest move in Polestar’s growing Australian marketing playbook. In July, the brand signed a first-of-its-kind sponsorship with the Melbourne Football Club’s AFLW side - the only dedicated automotive partnership in the competition. The Polestar logo now features across the team’s playing, training and travel shorts, with content pushed through AFLW channels.
Earlier in May, Polestar appointed Manifest as its communications agency of record in Australia, handing the brief to the independent agency’s Melbourne office with support from Stockholm. The move signalled a stronger push to cut through a crowded EV market and drive mainstream adoption.
Together, the AFLW sponsorship, agency shift and now Chalmers tie-up mark a clear shift in Polestar’s positioning from niche challenger to brand that wants cultural resonance in Australia — through sport, sustainability and lifestyle alignment.
Polestar’s local line-up includes the Polestar 2, Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, now available for test drives nationwide.
