Philips' consumer marketing director departs to join L'Oréal in SG

Philips’ consumer marketing director Aun Zaidi (pictured) has confirmed to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that he has left the company after nine years. Meanwhile, he is also relocating from Hong Kong to Singapore to join L'Oréal.

As Zaidi’s new job remit is not revealed yet, he said it is a regional role covering the company businesses across South Asia, Middle East and North Africa.

Previously at Phillips, Zaidi worked as part of the global team for kitchen appliances business. He joined the company in 2013 in Dubai as regional beauty category marketing manager for Middle East where he led the entire the beauty category in the region.

He then moved to Hong Kong in 2018 as he was promoted to global senior hair care consumer marketing manager, where he was responsible for value proposition development, proposition roadmap, long term strategy and development of new spaces. He was also leading hair care venture to develop new AI-based exciting proposition and new business models.

Prior to Philips, Zaidi worked as regional brand manager of tylenol for Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan at Johnson & Johnson.

He has worked both in core business management and innovation management roles which gives him a wider perspective and insights on end-to-end business and marketing management.

Back in February, Philips Domestic Appliances has appointed Omnicom Media Group (OMG) as its global media agency. The partnership includes all of the company's kitchen appliances, coffee makers, indoor climate control, clothes steaming, ironing and floor cleaning appliances in more than 100 countries. By supporting the company through a tailored media platform, OMG will play a key role in implementing a new marketing model and advancing Philips Domestic Appliances' accelerated growth agenda as a global leader in home appliances.

The mission of Philips Domestic Appliances is to make houses into homes. OMG will support the company in this by planning and purchasing traditional, digital and performance media for the company's full brand portfolio and extensive campaign schedule.
