PETRONAS has concluded the first phase of its global website revamp known as "Project Sentinel" which was done in partnership with Fishermen Integrated, A+M understands. The project was led by a new digital communications team within PETRONAS, A+M understands, and is said to replace the internally built website deployed in 2015. This is in a bid to consolidate several of PETRONAS' websites and improve the overall user experience of the website which serves as the first online touch-point. A+M understands the website revamp comes after the agency was appointed to manage digital and social duties for PETRONAS in early 2018. The website is said to feature an improved user experience through the utilisation of animations on the website, coupled with popular website functions and modules. A+M understands that the second phase will focus more on data optimisation and the utilisation of better analytics tools to customise content according to demographic, affinity and interest. A+M has reached out to PETRONAS for comment. Earlier this year, PETRONAS picked McCann Worldgroup Malaysia and IPG Mediabrands to manage BTL and ATL duties respectively, following a pitch held in October 2018.
