Perfect World, a Nasdaq-listed cross-platform game developer and operator in China, has handed MediaVest its media account. The company develops online games based on its proprietary game engines and game development platforms.
The account was handed to MediaVest without a pitch. According to a press release, the company was also looking for a media agency who knows local market, especially the Chinese audience, and specialises in performance media. This appointment comes after Perfect World decided to shift gears of the business and focus on the Malaysia and Singapore market.
Perfect World’s games are licensed to leading game operators in Asia, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Russia.
“We’re looking for agency with performance driven experience and believe MediaVest is able to aid us in growing our business,” Mickey Ong, marketing at Perfect World said.
“As a marketing/advertising company we have good understanding of the local Chinese audience. Adding to that our digital strategy to reach the Malaysian Chinese via performance media, tracking beyond clicks and also access to research such as sensing project provides an edge for Perfect World’s business,” Piyee Wong (pictured), managing director MediaVest Malaysia added.
Currently the appointment is only for the Malaysia market and there is no incumbent for the account.
