Panasonic’s new APAC marketing lead

Panasonic has moved its regional lead Hiroyoshi Suga to lead its Indonesian operations, appointing his replacement for Asia Pacific.

Confirming the development to Marketing, a Panasonic spokesperson said that Junichiro Kitagawa (pictured) has been appointed as managing director, Panasonic Consumer Marketing Asia Pacific – Suga’s former role.

Suga’s title is now president director of Panasonic Gobel Indonesia. He reports to Kitagawa.

Kitagawa reports to Yorihisa Shiokawa, managing director, Panasonic Asia Pacific.

Kitagawa will focus on value-added zone and volume zone marketing, with a strong emphasis on local fit product planning, said the spokesperson.

He will also aim to strengthen Panasonic’s foothold in strategic markets such as Indonesia and Vietnam, as well as in the emerging markets of Myanmar, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Cambodia. He has been with the company since 1980 and has had experience in its European markets.

Following a group wide restructuring, Panasonic Consumer Marketing Asia Pacific, previously helmed by Suga, was established in early 2012 as the regional hub to centralise decision making and strengthen marketing activities.
