OpenAI expands affordable ChatGPT Go plan to Indonesia

OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Go in Indonesia, marking the country as one of the first two markets worldwide to access the new low-cost subscription plan. At IDR 75,000 (US$4.5) per month, the service is designed to offer broader access to the platform’s most popular AI tools at an affordable price point.
ChatGPT Go includes all features from the free plan, alongside extended access to GPT-5, image generation, file uploads, and advanced data analysis. Subscribers also gain longer memory for more personalised interactions, as well as access to projects, tasks, and the ability to create and edit custom GPTs, OpenAI stated on its website.
Users who are already subscribed to ChatGPT Pro or Plus can also switch to the more affordable version. “Your current plan will remain active until the end of your billing cycle. At that time, your account will switch to Go, and you will be charged the Go rate moving forward,” the firm explained.

The rollout is being made available gradually to users in India and Indonesia, with plans to expand to additional markets in the future. Users can subscribe by logging into ChatGPT, selecting their profile icon, and choosing Try Go.
Unlike ChatGPT Plus or Pro, Go does not include access to legacy models such as 4o, advanced research tools, or video creation capabilities such as Sora. API usage and connectors are also excluded.
The subscription, billed monthly, aims to target a wider base of consumers and professionals in emerging digital markets, offering a scaled-down but powerful version of OpenAI’s capabilities.
In a LinkedIn post, Nick Turley, vice president and head of ChatGPT, noted that ChatGPT Go delivers 10 times the limits for messages, image generations, and file uploads, along with double the memory compared to the free plan.
“Indonesia is already one of ChatGPT’s fastest-growing markets, with weekly active users up 3× over the past year, putting it among our global top five,” Turley said.
“And the early signals for ChatGPT Go are exciting: in India, the plan doubled paid subscribers in under a month, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from users,” he added.
