Aiken Digital and Onyx Island have completed a merger, with Onyx now being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aiken Digital. Following the merger, Aiken Digital will now be rebranded as Aiken Group, streamlining its core businesses into four business units: Aiken Digital - Digital Consulting and Services,  Fixx Labs - Web 3.0 and Blockchain/Crypto Solutions, Social Commerce Cloud, and Esports and Gaming.

Aiken Digital is a global growth agency based in Singapore and Malaysia, focusing on developing technology solutions powered by AI to provide a new generation of growth for companies, while Onyx Island is a digital experience agency in APAC that build positive user experiences for its brands. The combined clientele of both Onyx and Aiken comprises Mastercard, L’Oréal, Luxottica, LVMH, Sotheby, L.D. Waxson and Beam Suntory, to name a few. The merger also boasts a combined workforce strength of 80 and will allow Aiken Digital to enforce its position with a few key leadership positions within Singapore and Malaysia operations.

Danny Murong , who was the MD of Onyx Island, will be appointed as the chief operating officer. Meanwhile, Onyx Island's creative director Zhi Wei Koh will remain as the creative director, Joshua Ooi who was partner and business development lead will now take on the title of project management office lead, and fellow founder of Onyx Island Wei Liang Lee will now be the technical lead.

Joseph Chua, CEO of Aiken Group, explained that the merger will combine both the companies’ expertise in consulting and digital experiences, to enhance the delivery of their services to their customers.

Murong added that Onyx has been aiding its clients in improving user experience through digital platforms. He said: "Combining our assets and talented team with Aiken Digital’s experience in this field creates a remarkable growth agency to serve the needs of all our existing and future clients." Previously, in 2020, Aiken Digital set foot into Asia Pacific through the acquisition of digital design agency, Fixx Digital, with the launch of its Singapore and Malaysia offices. Aiken Digital had taken onboard the team behind the work for clients such as Changi Airport, Citibank, Jones Lang Lasalle and Grab, and looks to sharpen the agency's UX/UI capabilities to complement its digital strategy credentials.
