ONE Championship, the Singapore-based mixed martial arts organisation, has added some additional firepower to its executive team.
Joining the group as head of marketing is Kevin Matas, former head of Red Bull’s social media platform in the US, where he oversaw strategy, programming, content development, community management and analytics for a collective audience of some 50 million people.
Pithambar Gona, a financial heavyweight and managing director at investment group Blackstone, joins ONE Championship as CFO. In recent months, the sports group has been vocal about its intention to take the company public and Gona, who launched and led the firm’s private equity business in Southeast Asia, seems to be taking this goal one step further.

Victor Cui, CEO of ONE Championship, said the appointments cement its team for the next stage of global growth.
“Without a doubt, we sit here today as Asia’s most successful sports media property in history because of the amazing leaders and staff at ONE Championship. With the addition of Preet, Kevin, and Kevin, our senior leadership team is now the most globally-seasoned corporate leadership team in the entire sports media industry in Asia. I have never been more excited for the future of ONE Championship.”
