O&M’s global planning partner moves to M&C Saatchi

Ogilvy & Mather’s global planning partner Kate Smither has taken up a role at M&C Saatchi Sydney as group strategy director.

Reporting to M&C Saatchi chief strategy officer Justin Graham and CEO Jaimes Leggett, Smither (pictured) will drive strategic leadership across the M&C Saatchi Group, with a major focus on CommBank, amid other clients. Previous to her global role at Ogilvy & Mather, Smither was head of planning at George Patterson Y&R.

“M&C Saatchi has built some of the biggest brand platforms in Australia. Leveraging those to touch consumers in memorable and innovative ways are things Kate does better than anyone,” said Graham.

Smither is the latest in a talent bolster by M&C Saatchi that includes the appointment of group innovation director Ben Cooper from The Monkeys and Amir Mireskandari from Leo Burnett to group operations director.
