Ogilvy brings DiGi marketer on board

Ogilvy Malaysia has appointed Sulin Lau (pictured) as the new managing director of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising and OgilvyOne.This is the first time the agency has combined leadership of both units.In her new role, Lau is tasked with integrating digital, data analytics, social and e-Commerce capabilities into Ogilvy's core advertising offerings.While both companies will continue to operate as two distinct units, this joint leadership role, the agency said, allows it to better respond to a brand's changing needs and new emerging opportunities "by harnessing more effectively the natural synergies in talent, technology, knowledge and tools."Anand Badami, country head of Ogilvy Malaysia said the agency looks forward for Lau to come on board to "help clients unlock the immense potential of digitisation to drive real-time, data-driven, need-specific brand relationships with customers.""The creation of this new joint leadership role also signifies the importance of addressing fragmented consumer attentions with more seamless integration between core brand strategy and multi-channel delivery."Lau was most recently head of marketing services at DiGi Telecommunications where she oversaw the brand, communications, ecommerce and CX management.She also brings to her new role 10 years in brand planning, leading strategy teams in Malaysia and regionally across Asia-Pacific.
