Ogilvy announces Pacquing retirement; Puyat named as successor

Ogilvy and Mather Philippines announced that country head Peachy Pacquing will retire this January and will be succeeded by current Ogilvy One managing director Elly Puyat.Puyat, a 14-year veteran of Ogilvy, will be tasked to oversee businesses within the O&M Philippines Group, which  includes O&M Advertising and Soho Square, Ogilvy One and neo@Ogilvy, Ogilvy PR and Pulse Communications, Ogilvy Action, and RedWorks Manila.Pacquing announced her plans to retire this week after 12 collective years with the Agency to pursue new opportunities. Both will be working together until the close of the year to ensure a smooth transition for clients and staff, which official begins 1 January.“Elly is the perfect choice to lead our ongoing efforts to create ‘the agency of the future’ in the Philippines.   The industry continues to change rapidly, and clients have a number of new needs in content creation, digital channels, the smart use of data, in-market activation, and more ‘live’ messaging through social media – all based on great ideas.  Already, Ogilvy Philippines has made substantial strides in a number of these areas.  Kent Wertime, COO of Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific said.Commenting on her departure, Pacquing said, “I have come full circle with Ogilvy Manila and I am confident that with Elly Puyat taking over the reigns as CEO, I am leaving our team in competent hands. I have no doubt that under Elly’s leadership, the company shall take great strides towards becoming an agency that deftly responds to the new dynamic between people and brands.”
