Ocean Park looks beyond MediaCom for search

As Ocean Park pitches its mammoth media business, incumbent agency MediaCom has lost the search marketing portion to start-up Beyond Media Global.

Ocean Park’s regional search business spans a number of Asia markets from Korea, China, Hong Kong, India, Philippines and Taiwan.

Beyond Media Global, a Hong Kong-based marketing firm with some 30 staff and a growing list of major clients, won the business after a tender.

Philip G Chiu, chairman of Beyond Media Global, told Marketing the agency had already commenced work on the account. He said its remit covers paid and organic search on platforms including Baidu and Yahoo.

The win comes as Ocean Park puts its media and digital accounts up for tender.

The move is part of Ocean Park’s regular procurement procedures but its creative business, currently held by Metta Communications, is not part of the review.

A decision on both media and digital is expected to be made within the month.
