Nokia has extended its partnership with Tribal DDB for the launch of its new Lumia 720 and Lumia 520.
“We decided to appoint Tribal DDB with this campaign because they showed the initiative and aggressiveness that we felt suited the brand, moving forwards,” said Eda Lim, head of marketing, Nokia Malaysia and Brunei.
The campaign is made based on the insight that consumers are becoming more socially inept and suffer disconnection from the real world.
The campaign was thus created by parodying this insight dubbed “Socialitis”, which is a ‘disease’ of social ineptness that is the result of excessive use of smartphones that can be ‘cured’ by the design and functions of the Nokia Lumia.
“A great insight and a great product entails what we all feel will be a great campaign for Nokia and we’re all very excited about the launch,” said Lola Chin, general manager of Tribal DDB.
