Malaysia – Nicole Tan (pictured) has been appointed managing director of JWT Kuala Lumpur, replacing Param Saikia who leaves to “pursue other opportunities”, according to a press release.
Tan has been in the industry for more than 16 years and was most recently business director for the Nokia China account at JWT Beijing.
She joins the agency from 4 March.
Her move is part of a number of changes taking place across JWT’s Asia network since Tom Doctoroff took over as CEO in September last year.
“Tan knows the Malaysian business environment, and our team on the ground, inside out,” Doctoroff said in a statement.
“She is a shrewd strategist, boasts extensive experience across a broad range of industries and, finally, has a winning combination of heart and drive.”
Tan began her career at JWT Kuala Lumpur in 1996, where she worked on a range of clients, including De Beers, Kraft and Roche.
“I look forward to working together with the talented team at JWT KL to ensure the growth and momentum of the agency,” said Tan.
A+M attempted to contact Saikia, but was unable to do so at press time.
