New World Hotels & Resorts ventures into Thailand

New World Hotels & Resorts has sealed a deal with Thailand-based real estate developer Grand Canal Land whereby it will manage New World Grand Rama 9, Bangkok Hotel.

The 285-room hotel will be opening its doors in mid-2017 and adds to the group’s existing portfolio of properties in Hong Kong, mainland China, Vietnam and the Philippines.

“Bangkok represents an important strategic expansion for us in Asia,” Sonia Cheng, CEO at Rosewood Hotel Group, which owns New World Hotels & Resorts, said.

Meanwhile, Romani Boondicharern, deputy managing director at Grand Canal Land, said, “This hotel will become an integral component of Grand Rama 9 and strengthen its position as a prime commercial and leisure destination.”

New World Hotels and Resorts aims to operate 30 hotels by 2020.
