Nestlé appoints new MD

Nestlé has named Alois Hofbauer (pictured) as the new managing director and head of business operations for both Nestlé Malaysia and Singapore. Hofbauer, who replaces current MD Peter Vogt, starts his new role on 1 February 2013.Hofbauer is currently the managing director of Nestlé Sri Lanka and has spent 22 years working with Nestlé. He started his career as a sales and marketing trainee in Austria before being transferred to Hong Kong in 1995.He then held various marketing and sales positions in the Greater China region before taking on the responsibility of county manager of Nestlé Taiwan.Vogt will be moving back to Nestlé S.A in Vevey, Switzerland following his appointment as deputy vice president, head of human resources of the group and centre administration effective 1 March 2013.Vogt will also assume his position on the executive board of Nestlé S.A. on the same date.
