Telecommunications company MyRepublic has appointed communications consultancy RICE to drive its communications and public relations programme in Singapore. This year-long appointment follows a pitch. Marketing has reached out for details of the pitch.

In a statement to Marketing, James Brasher, managing partner, RICE, said the appointment was made earlier this year, and RICE started work with MyRepublic in mid-March. He added that RICE will be covering all aspects of strategic communications and media relations for MyRepublic. When asked why was RICE chosen, Brasher said it is because the consultancy demonstrated a "strong understanding" of MyRepublic’s business and brand vision, as well as "strategic depth and creative breadth" in the ideas it presented during the pitch process.

Lawrence Chan, managing director of MyRepublic Singapore, said it is a strategic time for the company to appoint a new communications partner as the company grows its digital connectivity capabilities and market share in Singapore and across APAC. Chan added that MyRepublic will be working with RICE to strengthen its position as the service provider with a heart, as well as deepen our engagement with its stakeholders. "Ultimately, we want to be connecting more consumers to MyRepublic’s products and experiences," he said.

“As one of the fastest growing telecommunications and technology companies in the region, MyRepublic presents fresh opportunities for RICE. MyRepublic gives us plenty of opportunity to grow alongside them. Best of all, the company’s full of great people," Brasher added.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Singapore, MyRepublic has operations across Singapore, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Australia. According to its website, the company is set to expand further into the region.
