MY brands celebrate badminton star's victory with promos around surname 'Lee'

Shortly after Malaysian badminton player Lee Zii Jia (pictured) smashed his way to victory at the Yonex All England Open on 21 March against Danish player Viktor Axelsen, some local brands have celebrated his win by offering a list of promotions for individuals with the surname "Lee". Meanwhile, other brands also launched promotions for individuals whose names begin with the letter "L" or who have the word "Lee" in their names.

Separately, brands such as 100PLUS and Celcom Axiata, both of which are Lee's sponsors, as well as Sunway Pyramid, Burger King, Tealive, Lazada Malaysia, Shopee Malaysia, Malaysia Airports Holdings, and Cosway Malaysia congratulated Lee for his feat. In a Facebook post, 100PLUS is offering every 100th F&N Life customer who purchased 100PLUS products an opportunity to win a free jersey signed by Lee.

4Fingers Malaysia

4Fingers is encouraging Facebook users to tag an individual named "Lee" in the comments to stand a chance to win a free meal.

The victory is a huge one for Lee, having defeated two top seeded players - Netherlands' Mark Caljouw and Denmark's Viktor Axelsen - to emerge the champion. This win marks Malaysia's first All England title in four years, Bernama reported, catapulting Lee to a career-high number eight in the world rankings.
