MTV goes to Bangladesh

Viacom International will start a local version of its youth network MTV in Bangladesh under a new syndication deal.

Creinse, a brand innovation, music and entertainment company, will market and produce MTV programming and localised MTV formats popular shows such as MTV Hits, My Celeb MTV and MTV Chart Attacks.

Indra Suharjono, executive vice president and MD of Viacom Asia, described Bangladesh as a vibrant market with great potential and an exciting emerging local music scene.

Additionally, MTV also create opportunities for viewers and music talents through contests and competition platforms for opportunities to participate in regional MTV music events.

“The collaboration will not only create a new standard for local productions, but Creinse will now be an enabler between local music talents and a global brand like MTV,” added Rabeth Khan, managing director of Creinse Limited.
